The best gift you can give me is grandparent-style love. The type of love that is always encouraging, home-cooked meals and a place to visit that remains unchanged. The type of unconditional love you get nowhere else. My childhood had some
very difficult parts; my happiest memories are at my grandparents’ house.
I am very blessed with emails and messages from audience members, but years ago, I received an email from a loving woman who shared the impact my book had on her. She went on to explain that she was the oldest of
thirteen children on a dairy farm, just like my beloved mother-in-law. That first day Edna reached out, we started an email friendship. She lives in another city, but the emails shared stories of her life across the cyber highway.
Edna would comment on my posts and newsletters, cheering me on
when things were going great and offering me loving words of encouragement when I needed it. She often checks in to make sure I am taking care of myself. I can’t tell you how many times she would message me right when I needed it, with her many loving emojis attached to the message.
I
finally got to meet Edna today. A warm heart on a cold day.
How can you spread more kindness this November? Be more like Edna. Reach out and give people love and encouragement.
Warmly,
