I love to walk. If I can carve out some time, I will try and find the walking trails in the city I am speaking in. I love to walk along the Meewasin Valley Trail in Saskatoon. It is a beautiful scenic trail that winds along the river and is lined with trees that are beautiful in every season.
Dotted along the path are benches for you to rest. Most of the benches have a metal plate with an engraving to a family
member who has passed away. I love to walk slowly and read those engravings. It is like reading mini obituaries of the people who have passed on. It reminds me of how quickly life goes by and how grateful I am to be healthy enough to be walking.
My favorite bench is Leo LeClair's. Leo's bench reads: "Leo lived like heaven was a place on earth."
I don't know about you but if that is what my family wrote on my bench I would be happy.
What will your
bench say?
