This was the tree from my kitchen window last week.
Years ago a friend of mine was dying of cancer. She stopped by to see me and we shared a cup of tea at my kitchen table. The tree in my yard looked like it did this week, with beautiful yellow leaves with bright red
berries.
As we visited, she looked longingly out the window and said, “Promise me something. Promise me that you will take the time to sit in this chair and look at that beautiful tree.” She died shortly after.
Every year when the leaves on that tree turn yellow, I sit down with a big cup of tea, look at the tree and I think of
her.
It's so important to take a moment to reflect on the 90%s in your life.
